How to prepare Chemistry for NEET 2018?


If you are wondering how to prepare Chemistry for NEET 2018, start with knowing exam syllabus. There are 180 questions in NEET UG 2018, for 4 marks each. There is also a negative marking of 1 mark for wrong answers. Hence, carefully answering questions in NEET 2018 is important to score above 600, if getting a good score to get one of top colleges is your aim.
NEET 2017:
  • The NEET 2017 Chemistry was moderate in comparison to physics.

  • Compare to last year, it was less tricky.

NEET 2018 Chemistry

Organic Chemistry
  1. To study organic chemistry, you must know the names of the various compounds that constitute the reagents, substrates etc.

  3. After completing each chapter always note down the important thing, you have learned.It will help you to remember the points.
  4. Also, start creating your mechanism. You may make mistakes in the beginning, but that’s okay. Involve the conditions, reactants and any other data given and start making some logic.
Inorganic Chemistry
  1. Since Inorganic chemistry, you only have to learn by heart.
  2. Make periodic table as your second friend because knowledge of periodic table will fetch you lot of marks in the exam.
  3. Another important thing you must not forget to study is metallurgy.First, understand the metallurgical operation and their application.
  4. Don’t forget to do coordination compound. It’s a scoring and straightforward topic.The best way to master coordination compound is practice.


NEET 2018 Chemistry Preparation

Since NEET UG 2018 will be for admission to all medical colleges except AIIMS and JIPMER, number of test takers would be over a million. They will compete for a few thousand of seats. This makes competition tough and significance of NEET 2018 Preparation even so more important.

1Understand the syllabus


The students must ensure that they know the syllabus very well. Medical Council of India notifies the syllabus for NEET 2018. NEET Preparation is based on class 11th and 12th subjects and their chapters. So, give equal importance to the syllabus of class 11th and 12th as well.

2Don’t Get Stuck on NCERT


The student should keep this thing in mind that NEET syllabus is prepared after reviewing various states curriculum. It is monitored by Council Board of School Education, Central Board of School Education and National Council of Education Research and Training. So, do not keep yourself to the limit of NCERT books or syllabus. Also, review the current competitive books of NCERT for NEET preparation.

3Well-Planned Strategy


A well-planned strategy works like a miracle for your NEET Preparation. Students should plan a clear short-term and long-term strategy for an exam. They should make a chart of the chapters that need priority and more revision than natural ones. This will be helpful to improve the weaker section.

4Set Target


Aspirants should set a target for the practice test. They should complete the practice test before the time and consider that time to be the final time.

5Make Notes


Make separate notes for critical formulae and relevant chapters. Go through them while starting your study and ending your education. These notes will help you to learn the basics in short time without making any extra efforts.

6Be Honest


Be honest with yourself. Make an accurate report for yourself of your progress. If you got stuck somewhere then tries to find out the reason for it, rather than leaving that topic.

7Read Everything


Don’t be overconfident while studying. Go through each and every question whether you know it or not.

8Yoga and Meditation


The student should give rest to their mind. All time study can block their mind, so they need to practice some yoga and meditation. Yoga and Meditation will help them to relax their mind, and they will be able to learn things quickly.

9Mock Test


It is advisable to go through the previous year NEET question paper and mock test. These papers will help to some extent in NEET preparation and solve the difficulty to a certain degree.
Earlier, there was AIPMT exam for medical aspirants, but from 2017 NEET has replaced this AIPMT exam. It is compulsory for all the medical college whether it is private or government, to fill their college seats by the score of NEET examination only. There are around 426 medical colleges in India that provide 53,330 seats. Except for All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), all the colleges have to consider NEET Score for MBBS Examination. There will be no monopoly of private institutions for reserving the seat. Only deserving candidates will get the seat.
