With exams approaching, it gets very difficult to manage your time between studies, school, and co-curricular activities. While you need to study different subjects with several chapters, you need to also take out time to relax for physical activities. You can follow these tips to manage your time more efficiently and get positive results:
1) Learn to prioritize: The syllabus to be learnt will always be a lot! Learn to set aside chapters that carry the highest weightage & make these your top most priority. The most important and longest chapters should be finished first as they take more time.
2) Make to-do-lists: Every night before going to sleep, make a to-do list for the next day. In this list, mention every task that you plan to do that day. Allot time to the smallest of things. Make sure you allot enough time for relaxation and physical activities as well.
3) Keep realistic expectations: The goals and aims you wish to achieve in your to-do-lists should be realistic and feasible to complete within the allotted time. Unrealistic expectations with limited time will only mess up your schedule and will disappoint you. Whereas, achieving your realistic goals will keep you motivated!
4) Avoid distractions: In order to manage time efficiently, it is very important that you stick to the schedule and concentrate on whatever it is that you are doing. While studying, we tend to daydream and get distracted. This must be avoided. Also, keep your mobile phones and internet off while you study.
5) Be flexible: While preparing your schedule, allot some extra time for unforeseen circumstances. Your schedule might not always go as planned, so be prepared for it. Don’t rush through the syllabus in order to complete it on time as half the concepts won’t register properly in your brain and will lead to wastage of time.
6) It is okay to say NO sometimes: If your friend wants to watch a movie with you or your family wants you to attend a family function, but you are lagging behind on your schedule, then just say no. However that does not mean you can never take breaks. Take breaks when it is convenient for you.
7) Take adequate amount of rest: This time of your life can be stressful. Sleep for at least eight hours every day to keep your mind and body well rested. This will help you because, being stressed or tired only decreases the efficiency of the brain and the level of your concentration.
Now that we’ve made time management easier for you, we are sure you’ll be able to manage your time in a more productive way! Always remember that your hard work and perseverance will pay off and the results will surely be worth it. We wish you all the very best!
